John William Hubbard, son of Odell Hubbard Sr. and Rachel Larkin McDevitt Hubbard, passed away Feb. 6, 2010, at the age of 59. Born April 7, 1950, in Brigham City, Utah, John was a resident of Las Vegas since he was two and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1968. John is survived by sister, Jacklyn (McDevitt) Tomaselli; and brothers, George McDevitt and Odell Hubbard Jr. He had 11 nieces and nephews. John graduated from the Plumbers' and Pipefitters' Apprenticeship program and spent 10 years working as a journeyman plumber/pipefitter. He spent his later years self-employed performing painting, wallpapering and remodeling work. He was well-known by many Las Vegans. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, the LDS chapel, at 6100 Alta (at the corner of Alta and Jones). In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
