Obituary of Suzanne Scano

On Sunday, June 5th, 2022, we lost an angel on earth. Suzanne Hoskinson Scano of Las Vegas, Nevada died at the age of 72 after a brief but very tough battle with cancer. Suzanne was born to Vivian McGrew and James Hoskinson in Omaha, Nebraska on April 13, 1950. She moved to Las Vegas with her family in 1960. She graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1968 and married the love of her life Alan Scano on May 26, 1970. They were married 52 years, a match made in heaven for sure. Suzanne worked in the accounting department at Caesars Palace for many years where she was loved by all. She was a very dedicated public servant who worked the election polls for more than 10 years and the Shriners Golf Tournament for 16 years which gave her great joy. Suzanne was fiercely devoted to her husband and family. She enjoyed cooking and planning beautiful holidays for those she loved. She also enjoyed making scrapbooks and crafts which she often gave to her family and friends as gifts. She was an excellent golfer and was very proud of her “hole in one.” She loved the outdoors and traveling with her husband.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents James and Vivian, sisters Nancy and Jeanette, brother-in-law John, brother-in-law Jeff, son-in-law Rod, grandson Rod Jr., and nephew John. She is survived by her husband Alan, son Alan Jr., daughter Lisa, granddaughter Blair (Patrick), grandson Christian (Samantha) and great granddaughter Charlotte. She is also survived by her sisters Colleen (Anthony), Tammy (Keith), Chris (Dan), Jill (Lou), Janet (John), and brothers Tommy (Deana), Jim (Karen) and John (Michelle), brother-in-law Steven (Starr), sister-in-law Becky, as well as 46 nieces and nephews and 60 great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on June 25th, 2022, at 10 am with interment following at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery located at 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89123. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriners Hospitals in honor of Suzanne Scano.
